The magnificent stone and marble Scottish Rite Museum and Library is one of the most unique and fascinating historical places in San Antonio, and is becoming a first choice venue for elegant and extraordinary events.
Since its construction in 1921, the majestic building has been a San Antonio landmark, and has been used through the years for many wedding, community and corporate events. From the 16-foot, 300 ton marble pillars in the entry, to the towering, star lit ceiling of the beautiful Greek Amphitheater Auditorium, guests are always “wowed” with the old world beauty and mystery of this unusual facility. The one-of-a-kind Auditorium, the impressive Banquet Hall and the formal Ladies’ Reception Room are all available to the public for special events.

Under eight Greek Corinthian stone columns and a façade that translates, “My Hope is in God,” guests enter the building through two massive bronze doors which were created by famed sculptor Pompeo Coppini, and weigh 2,500 pounds each. They open into a grand entry filled with more than six tons of creamy Carrara marble which was shipped to San Antonio from Genoa, Italy. This grand foyer (which is a fabulous photo opportunity) with its 32-foot vaulted, gold-leaf ceiling, offers guests an impressive welcome, and sets the stage for an unforgettable experience. The beautiful lobby area can also be used for pre-party cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, and as overflow from the Reception Room.
